How to recover images from SD card for Free

Thanks to the free Recuva tool, you can restore your images from your camera or SD card at home, without contacting the service center.

  • Download the Recuva program and install it on your computer. After the installation is complete, you can immediately run the utility.
  • Start the recovery process. Click ‘Next’, and then specify the file type, in this case, ‘Image’.
  • After that, you need to specify the path to the file, which was lost. To do this, select the second item ‘On my memory card’.
  • Now you can start the verification process, by clicking on ‘Start’.
  • After a short waiting period, you will see all the images, which can be returned. To do this, simply select the desired photos and click ‘Restore’.
  • In conclusion, you must specify, in which folder the restored images will be saved.

If the necessary files are not found, start the process again. However, at the last step, enable the ‘Deep Search’ option.

Saving images on SD card: Easeus Data Recovery

If Recuva has not found your deleted files, try using the Easeus Data Recovery Wizard program. However, in the free version, it can recover a maximum of 2 GB of data.

  • After installation, run the program and select the desired SD card.
  • Click the ‘Scan’ button in the lower right corner, to find the lost data. The search process may take several minutes.
  • Now look through the list and select all the data, which you want to restore. To do this, click in the lower right corner there is a corresponding button.

In the end, you need to choose a place, where the data will be saved. It is best to store them on your hard drive. Do not move files back to the SD card until, until you completely save all the necessary photos. Otherwise, the files may be overwritten., and this will make further recovery difficult or impossible.
